Credentials & Certifications

Education is one of the cornerstones of Missouri Society of Accountants’ mission statement. More than 75% of our membership is ACAT credentialed. Our organization not only promotes the continuing education of its mem-bers but it also encourages the members to seek higher level of credentials such as Enrolled Agent or Certified Public Accountant. This page serves as a resource to inform members of the credentials available for accountants and tax preparers, as well as, good sources of education to achieve a higher level of knowledge in the field.


New to the Tax World?


Annual Filing Season Program


The Annual Filing Season Program aims to recognize the efforts of non-credentialed return preparers who aspire to a higher level of professionalism. Those who choose to participate can meet the requirements by obtaining 18 hours of continuing education, including a six hour federal tax law refresher course with test. The return preparer must also renew their preparer tax identification number (PTIN) for the upcoming year and consent to adhere to the obligations in Circular 230, Subpart B and section 10.51.

40+ Hours of CPE Annually


'MSA is an approved Continuing Education Provider by the IRS. MSA offers more than 40 hours of CPE annually during multiple fee-based events and free pop-up courses are available to paid members.
